This Week's Game Plan

Steelers @ Buccaneers 2018

Kickoff:
Monday, September 24, 2018 - 7:30pm
Doors open at:
6:15 PM

The Steelers travel to Tampa to take on the Bucs in a game that features two of the surprises in the NFL this season, for different reasons.  The Steelers will look for their first win this season while the Bucs will look to go 3-0 for the first time since 2005. The road game is probably coming at a good time, as the locker room has more drama in it than a teenage slumber party so hopefully the change of scenery does the team good.  Tampa has been known as Pittsburgh South, so expect to see plenty of Terrible Towels!  The Bucs are led by the surprising, never aging Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has looked MVP-like early in the season.  Pittsburgh will look to end “Fitzmagic” this week so take a break, so come on out and have fun with the SFOM while we cheer on the Black and Gold!

FOOD DRIVE 2017 Update

The results are in!  This year we raised $3,590 for the Second Harvest Food Bank.  Through the hard work of our Food Drive Coordinator, Ed Buechel was able to secure matching funds for a grand total of $10,090!  That translates to 30,270 meals for our neighbors this holiday season!  Thank you to Ed, the volunteers and more importantly everyone who purchased tickets!  Steelers fans are the most generous!

Meet Robin Cole at McGovern's

Hey Yinz Guys,

Who has a pair of Super Bowl rings, a tie to the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team and will be at McGovern’s on Sunday?  No, we did not change the weekly trivia question…

Robin Cole Action PhotoThe answer is Robin Cole!  For those of yinz too young to remember or are new to Steelers Nation; Robin Cole was the team’s first round draft pick in 1977 out of the University of New Mexico where he earned All-American honors.  He played linebacker and defensive end for the Stillers for 11 seasons and one season with the New York Jets; finishing his career with 19.5 sacks and 5 interceptions.  Robin was part of two Super Bowl Champion teams with the Steelers and was named to the Pro Bowl. He still resides outside of Pittsburgh.

2017 Black and Gold Bash

Another year, another successful Black and Gold Bash! Thank you for your generosity and bids and congratulations to everyone who left with a prize; especially the grand prize winners of the autographed seat, the $100 and $50 prizes as well. Your generosity helps us give out the free half-time prizes, the jersey raffles and helping keep the SFOM a no cover charge event.

STEELERS NATION UNITED

Those of you that were at McGovern’s for the September 10 game would have noticed a guy walking around with a camera. No, he was not from the TV show COPS (we are not Cowboys fans) but he was from Steelers Nation Unite. They will show our highlights during the game this week at Heinz Field. So, those of you going to the game you will get to see yourself and your closest friends on the big screen and under the bright lights at Heinz Field.
