2020 Playbook

Hey Yinz Guys,

Every year at the start of the season, each player receives a playbook to learn. It is normally thick, and it is amazing the players learn it so quickly. Well, this year the SFOM is going to have a playbook (although much thinner). A number of yinz have reached out to check our status for games at McGovern’s and we hope this will answer your questions. Please remember this situation is fluid and could change quickly. We will do our best to communicate any changes as we know them. Watch your email and our Facebook group for updates.

HERE IS WHAT HAS NOT CHANGED:

McGovern’s will once again be our home: Since 2008, McGovern’s has been our home and that will continue this season. They are looking forward to having us back, so any support that we can provide to a local business during this difficult time is appreciated. What else that has not changed is they will still offer our favorite Steelers themed drink and food specials, including the ham with Isaly’s barbecue sauce shipped in from the Burgh and the Primanti’s style Strip District Stacker sandwich! Yum!

In order to make it easy on our hosts and their wonderful staff, we ask that each of you “mask up” except when you are enjoying your meal and drinks. The McGovern’s staff will be wearing masks at all times and we can’t ask them to enforce it, so we need each of yinz to mask up and practice social distancing.

The doors will open one hour before kickoff: As with previous years, this will allow everyone to get to their seats in time for the game.

HERE IS WHAT HAS CHANGED (AT LEAST FOR NOW):

Halftime prize raffle: Until further notice, we have decided to suspend the halftime prize raffle and will not issue tickets as you enter.

Black and Gold Bash: We are not scheduling our annual Black and Gold Bash for this season.

HERE IS WHAT IS UNDECIDED AT THIS POINT:

Food Drive and Weekly trivia contest: We are still working through the logistics. We are working to continue these great traditions of the SFOM; however, there are a few details that we need to work through, in order to safely continue these events.

Keep in mind that this is the information that we have as of today. We will do our best to keep you updated as we learn more. It is your decision if you would like to attend and we support everyone’s decision, no matter what you decide. This situation is fluid with many moving pieces, but with your cooperation and support we know we can have a fun, successful and safe season of watching Stillers football.

Remember to mask up and practice social distancing to keep our hosts and each other safe. Stay tuned to email and our Facebook page for updates as we have them.

GO STEELERS!
